6. FDA Status of Cosmetics

Cosmetics sold in the United States are not approved by the FDA before they go on the market.

Cosmetic versus drug.

Discontinue use immediately if you experience stinging that doesn't subside, burning, persistent redness, swelling, blistering, rash, or itching, and consult a healthcare provider.

California residents: some cosmetic products carry warnings under Proposition 65. Warnings and ingredient restrictions vary by state, and a product legal in one state may be restricted in another.

No sunscreen blocks all UV radiation or prevents skin cancer on its own.
